What is the National Bundt Franchisee Association (NBFA)?

The NBFA is an independent, legally formed not-for-profit company created to support and enhance the value of each of our investments in the Brand, by supporting your individual bakeries. We work collaboratively with the NBC leadership team.

Why should I join the NBFA?

  • Allow your voice to be included on issues important to you. We periodically survey our members as to what matters to them.
  • There is strength in numbers; by becoming part of a larger group your voice has greater impact, thereby helping to protect your investment.
  • Satisfaction in knowing the bottom line (profitability) is a major focus for the NBFA.
  • Potential group buying power with discounts on various services (in process). The larger our group, the stronger our buying power will be.
  • Take advantage of services that can best be secured through an association, such as health insurance (in process).

We have a Brand Advisory Council (BAC). Why do we need the NBFA? How does it differ from the BAC?

They both exist for the betterment of the Brand but the focus of each is slightly different. The BAC mainly emphasizes bakery owners' responses to ideas raised by the NBC support team. The NBFA focuses on providing a voice for the bakery owners on the issues that matter to them, and providing expertise in operational efficiencies, best practices and maximizing profitability. The two groups are collaborative in nature.

Additionally, the NBFA can provide further benefits to bakery owners that can best be achieved as an association by forming group buying programs and other co-op opportunities such as group health insurance and group discounts to members for various services. Lastly, an association can help provide education, awareness, and advocacy opportunities for regulatory and legislative actions that affect each bakery.

How much does it cost and what is the money used for?

Annual membership is $500/year for single bakery owners and $1000/year for multiple bakery owners. The majority of funds is used for legal advice on a case by case basis, with a portion held in reserve for any potential future legal consultation. A small amount is allocated to defray travel costs for an annual Board of Directors meeting. Those who serve on the NBFA board donate their time with no compensation.
